Having suffered and recovered from many years of chronic anxiety myself, I understand just what it takes to get past it, and have made this my main area of specialisation.
The truth is, it's not just one condition. Anxiety is the main component in several disorders including GAD (Generalised Anxiety Disorder) OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and Social Anxiety. To complicate things further, there are two broad types of anxiety each originating in different parts of the brain: a cortex originating anxiety, which is more thought, worry or image based; and an amygdala originating anxiety which produces a more automatic, primal emotional response to sometimes inexplicable triggers that have somehow become associated with danger. It's imperative to understand the specific nature of the anxiety that a particular client is experiencing as the appropriate treatments can vary quite widely. In fact in certain instances a treatment for one type of anxiety could make another type even worse, so it's important to choose a therapist who can fully understand the nature of your condition.

At Healing Voice I draw from a wide range of therapeutic disciplines including Hypnotherapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and Mindfulness. This allows us to combine eclectic combinations of techniques including Exposure Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing) and Hypnotic Regression to tailor a unique treatment plan to match the needs of each client.
Hypnosis is often used as a catalyst to re-enforce the strategies of other disciplines, helping clients achieve results at a much faster pace.
